Officers are on the lookout for suspects after two lewd incidents in West Seattle on Tuesday afternoon.
On October 22nd at approximately 2:05 p.m. officers responded to Westside School in the 7700 block of 34th Avenue SW for the report of lewd conduct. The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. when several students were on their recess and reported the suspect’s actions to the assistant principal, who subsequently called 911.
In this incident a group of female students were playing together when they observed the suspect sitting in a black 4-door sedan parked alongside the playground area on 32nd Avenue SW (the playground is elevated above the street and overlooks 32nd Avenue SW). The girls could see the suspect masturbating inside his car. One of the girls screamed which prompted several male students to come over to their location. The suspect drove off southbound on 32nd Avenue SW.
The suspect was described as a white male in his 30’s with a partial beard and wearing a hoodie.
The next incident was reported to police at 3:20 p.m. It occurred approximately 50 minutes earlier when two 13-year-old girls were walking home from school heading southbound on 45th Avenue SW approaching SW Andover Street. Approximately four car lengths from the intersection the girls saw a small black sedan facing eastbound in front of the sidewalk they were walking on. The car was half-way up on the sidewalk/curb with the driver’s door in line with the sidewalk. The driver’s door was open and they saw the suspect, who was not wearing any pants, make eye contact with them as he sat in the driver’s seat masturbating.
The two girls became scared and decided to walk across the street. They got their cell phones out and the suspect sped off quickly eastbound on SW Andover Street.
The suspect was described as a heavy-set White or Hispanic male in his 30’s with short dark hair, tan/olive skin color, scruffy facial hair, wearing glasses with dark rims and a blue t-shirt.
The suspect’s vehicle was described as an older black 4-door sedan with body damage on the driver’s side (small dents) and tinted rear windows.
It is unknown at this time if these two incidents were committed by the same suspect or if today’s incidents are related to previous incidents in the area, but detectives continue to investigate that possibility.
We encourage everyone to call 911 as soon as possible when observing suspicious or criminal activity and be a good witness.
Anyone with information about any of these incidents or who may know the identity or whereabouts of suspects involved in this activity is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police and refer to these incidents. Anonymous tips are welcome.
This remains an active and on-going investigation.
