Officers continue to search for a man who shot a gas station clerk after stealing a 12-pack of beer early this evening.
At approximately 8:11 p.m. officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 900 block of James Street. Preliminary investigation indicates that an adult male suspect entered the 76 gas station convenience store, grabbed a 12-pack of beer and walked out the door without paying. The suspect then got into a waiting vehicle described as a large, dark-colored car, possibly a 2-door. The suspects then fled westbound on Cherry Street and remain at large.
The shooter is described as a black male in his late teens to early 20’s, last seen wearing a black jacket, tan pants and a maroon scarf.
The victim, a 25 year old male, was transported to Harborview Medical Center where he is being treated for his non-life-threatening injuries. The other store employee that gave chase was not injured.
