Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred last night in West Seattle.
At around 9:15 pm, a Ford sedan was travelling northbound on 35th Avenue SW. As the Ford entered the intersection of SW Graham Street, the Ford struck a pedestrian. The Seattle Fire Department responded and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
As is routine, a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer responded to the scene and evaluated the male driver of the Ford. There were no signs of any impairment on the part of the driver. 35th Avenue SW was closed for hours as detectives conducted their investigation. The roadway is now back open. TCIS detectives will continue to handle this on-going investigation.
