A young man sustained serious injuries after being pushed through a plate glass window at a night club early this morning.
On January 19th at approximately 12:59 a.m. officers responded to a night club for the report of an assault with property damage. Preliminary investigation indicates that a man (victim #1) and his girlfriend were inside the Chop Suey night club located in the 1300 block of East Madison Street. The two adult male suspects were inside the club as well.
Victim #1’s girlfriend was dancing with one of the suspects and victim #1 became jealous. A fight broke out between the two suspects, victim #1 and his male friend (victim #2). The two suspects pushed victim #1 through a large plate glass window at the front of the club, from the inside out. The two suspects then pushed victim #2 through the same window. Both suspects then fled the scene running southbound on 14th Avenue and were gone upon the arrival of officers.
When officers arrived on scene victim #1 was unconscious and had sustained a large cut to his upper left arm/shoulder area resulting in significant blood loss. To the amazement of officers, victim #2 was not injured.
Fire department medics responded to the scene and transported victim #1, a 24-year-old male, to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries. Victim #2, a 23-year-old male, did not require medical treatment.
The suspects remain at large.
