Detectives Investigating Overnight West Seattle Arsons

Arson Detectives are investigating after someone intentionally set two fires in West Seattle overnight.

Officers were dispatched to California Ave SW and SW Oregon St at 2:30 AM for a report of a dumpster fire.  Officers arrived and with the help of the fire department were able to get the blaze under control.

While officers were on scene of the first arson, witnesses called 911 reporting a second dumpster fire a block away along the 4300 block of SW Alaska St.   Firefighters and officers rushed to the second fire and brought it under control.  Officers spoke to witnesses who said they saw a suspect exit the alley where the second fire occurred.  Officers discovered surveillance photos and are now asking for your help.

Witnesses described the suspect as a 20-year-old male with a slight build, wearing a red and grey sweatshirt.

Detectives do not believe these arsons are linked to previously reported fires in the area.  If you recognize the person in the photos please call 911 and ask to speak with an officer immediately.
