Consistent with the Seattle Police Department’s commitment to releasing information as soon as possible following significant incidents, the Seattle Police Department is releasing evidence from the ongoing investigation into the June 19, 2016 officer involved shooting the in 1900 block of S. Dearborn Street.
The following audio clip is from a 911 report of a domestic violence incident inside a residence in the 1900 block of S. Dearborn St.
Only potentially identifying personal information has been removed from the recording.
The following video clip was taken from in-car video recorded by the first officer to respond to the 911 call. The officer walks in front of the camera and contacts the 911 caller.
After shooting the suspect, the same officer can be seen securing the two knives from near the suspect and carrying them to her patrol car.
The Department is also releasing a photograph of the two knives seen in the video, as well as a photo of a third knife the suspect reportedly threw at the caller.
In releasing this evidence, SPD does not intend to convey any interpretation or prejudgment of any of the involved parties. The Department intends only to provide a direct look at evidence that has been gathered by the Force Investigation Team.
