Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) are conducting the follow up investigation after an early morning collision sent a woman to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.
Shortly after 7:00 am on Thursday, Seattle police and fire responded to NE 65th and Roosevelt Way NE. An adult woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a Volkswagen GTI travelling westbound on NE 65th. The driver of the Volkswagen, a female, remained at the scene. Seattle Fire medics transported the pedestrian to HMC with serious leg injuries. The driver was evaluated at the scene for any signs of impairment. The driver did not exhibit any signs of impairment.
Detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation. The streets surrounding the intersection were closed for several hours during the investigation, but have since reopened. This remains an active and on-going investigation.
