UPDATE – July 18, 2017
On Monday, July 17, Seattle Police Homicide detectives arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with this July 9 murder investigation. Detectives tracked the suspect down to Puyallup and arrested him with the assistance of the Puyallup Police Department. The suspect was arrested without incident. Detectives transported the suspect to Seattle Police Headquarters for questioning and later booked him into King County Jail for Investigation of Murder.
Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a deadly shooting that occurred Sunday evening in South Seattle
On July 9th, at about 7:10 pm, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3700 block of South Oregon Street. Officers arrived and located a 32-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Seattle Fire medics responded and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center where the victim died from his wounds. A second male also struck by gunfire at the same time was transported to Harborview by an acquaintance. The second victim was interviewed by detectives.
Crime Scene Investigators also responded to process the scene. This remains an active and on-going homicide investigation. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Seattle Police.
