Woman Arrested For Early Morning Robbery, Drugs on Capitol Hill

A 34-year-year old woman is in custody following an early morning incident on Capitol Hill.

At about 6:45 Thursday morning, the woman entered a grocery store in the 1400 block of East John Street and loaded up a shopping cart with approximately $900 worth of merchandise.  She then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items.  Store security tried to stop her as she was attempting to leave, but the woman fought with security and ran to a car in the parking lot.  The suspect then drove off.  Security provided officers with a  description and license plate number of the car.

Officers responded to a nearby residence where they contacted the suspect.  The suspect was positively identified by the victim and she was arrested for robbery.  During a search of the suspect at the jail, a glass pipe and suspected methamphetamine was recovered from the suspect’s bra.  She was booked into jail for robbery and  illegal drugs.
