Detectives are investigating after a woman was shot in the head overnight in the Brighton neighborhood.

Officers responded to reports of shots being fired from a moving car in the 4500 block of South Willow Street just after 2 a.m. Saturday. Officers arrived and found a woman in her 20’s who had been a passenger in one of the vehicles with a life-threatening gunshot wound to the head.  Seattle Fire Department medics took the woman to Harborview Medical Center where she is being treated for her injuries.

Witnesses told officers that two cars were driving through the area at a high rate of speed while the passengers were possibly firing shots at each other. Gang unit detectives are working with witnesses to develop a suspect description at this time.
