#2022-001757/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-03-2022 at 0012 hours, officers responded to a property damage call in the area of S Cloverdale St/12 Av S. The caller located a bullet that came through the window of a vacant building. Officers checked the area and located evidence of a shooting in the alley. The incident occurred between 01/01/2022 at 2000 hours to 01/02/2022 at 2100 hours. There were no reports of shots fired in the area during that time frame and no suspect information.

#2022-001902/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 01-03-2022 at 0645 hours, an unknown female caller reported her orange Honda 2Door car was stolen and last seen northbound on 4 Ave S. Officers responded and began an area check on 4 Ave S. An officer spotted a possible vehicle without a rear plate. The driver began to make random turns trying to determine if he was being followed. Caller was not able to be located. Officers did a traffic stop for the plate violation. Driver stopped and was cooperative. The VIN returned to an SPD Stolen 21-329175. Driver booked into King County Jail.

#2022-002022/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 01-03-2022 at 0953 hours, the suspect, a resident of a mental health facility, began destroying property inside his apartment. His behavior escalated to the point that he began tunneling through the floor of his apartment, ultimately creating three large holes through the ceiling to the office below. Water pipes were also damaged which resulted in water dripping from light fixtures in the ceiling below. Facility managers were forced to shut water off to the entire facility resulting in numerous residents not having water. On duty LT, Crisis Response Team, Hostage Negotiation Team, and Swat were called out, and a warrant was served on the suspect. The suspect, who was armed with a sledgehammer, was taken into custody without force and booked for Malicious Mischief with a preliminary estimate of the property damage in the $30,000 range.

#2022-002320/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-03-2022 at 1630 hours, officers responded to a threat disturbance in the 100 block of Pine St. When officers arrived, subject had committed the crimes of criminal trespass and threats to harm. Officers attempted multiple times to contact the subject who would not exit from the hotel room. Hostage Negotiation Team arrived on scene but after negotiations the subject refused to comply. After screening the incident with chain of command including the duty captain, the decision was made to clear the scene. Officers were notified about the incident and staff was informed to call 911 if further disturbances occurred at the location.
