#2022-107875/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 04-30-2022 at 0200 hours, witnesses observed a suspect vehicle travelling southbound on 1st Av make a sudden left turn onto University St. The vehicle struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The impact flipped the victim into the air and onto his head, resulting in significant injury. The suspect vehicle fled eastbound. The victim was in stable condition at the time of this report.

#2022-107804/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 04-30-2022 officers responded to reports of a victim shot in the abdomen. Upon arrival they located a victim down on the Dearborn St offramp from I-5. Officers rendered aid to the victim prior to the arrival of Seattle Fire. The victim provided a brief suspect description prior to being transported by SFD. The victim was transported to HMC in stable condition. Officers searched the area for witnesses and evidence. One witness stated he heard shots near an encampment nearby. Officers entered the encampment and searched for the scene but were unable to locate any evidence of a shooting. GVRU was notified of this incident.

#2022-108582/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 04-30-2022 at 2030 hours, officers responded to the 100 Block of Dexter Ave N regarding the report of a suicidal male who had taken his roommate hostage. It was determined that the suspect had contacted his mother and asked for a new cell phone and some cigarettes. When the suspect’s mother refused to purchase these items for him, he informed his roommate that he was holding him hostage until he received the items. The suspect then barricaded the front door and refused to let the victim out by threatening to kill him and his dog. With numerous swords scattered throughout the apartment, the victim felt the suspect would carry out the act. Victim then barricaded himself in his bedroom and contacted police. HNT and SWAT responded to the scene. Officers made entry and rescued the hostage and his dog. The suspect was taken into custody and subsequently booked for Investigation of Kidnapping and Harassment.
