Seattle police arrested a 34-year-old man Wednesday night after he stabbed a woman in the Northgate neighborhood.
At 10:18 p.m., officers responded to a reported stabbing at North 105th Street and Aurora Avenue North. They found a 43-year-old woman with a significant stab wound to her upper left cheek and provided aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
Police quickly contained the area and located the suspect near North 103rd Street and Interlake Avenue North. Officers took him into custody without incident.
The investigation revealed that the victim had just exited a bus when she became involved in an altercation with the suspect. Shortly afterwards, the suspect stabbed her and fled northbound through an alley.
Detectives from the Homicide and Assault Unit are leading the investigation. Officers booked the suspect into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
