#2023-324153/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At about 0139 HRS a call came in to 911 reporting that the caller’s brother-in-law was intoxicated, in crisis, and had just fired a gun inside of the family home twice. There was a total of 7 people inside of the home, to include 2 minors. A coordinated effort with patrol, HNT and SWAT brought a successful extraction of innocents from the home and the suspect safely taken into custody.
#2023-324346/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 11-9-23 at 1200 hours, two separate demonstrations occurred in the West Precinct. The first, took place at the Federal Building in the 900 block of 2 Ave and consisted of students from Nathan Hale, Cleveland and Garfield High Schools. The students walked out at approximately 1035 hours, gathered at the federal building at noon and protested until 1300 hours. There were approximately 75-100 demonstrators. The second took place outside the Amazon Spheres, 7 Ave/ Lenora St. Approximately 30-50 people protested from 1300-1500 hours. There were no counter protests nor arrests at either demonstration.
#2023-324570/South Precinct/Second Watch:
A resident of metal health housing attempted to assault multiple staff members with a metal pipe. When officers arrived, the suspect had locked himself into his apartment. HNT was called to the scene. After hours of de-escalation, patrol officers wrote and served an arrest warrant on the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into KCJ.
#2023-325065/South Precinct/Third Watch:
Officers were dispatched to a robbery at a gas station on Beacon Av S. The suspect produced a handgun, threatened the clerk and demanded money. The clerk threw some money on the counter and the suspect took it and ran away on foot. Officer did an area check but could not locate the suspect.
