Victim stabs burglary suspect

On October 20th at aproximately 2:00 a.m. officers responded to a burglary call in the 7400 block of Rainer Avenue South.  The male suspect attempted to enter the victim’s apartment with a key.  He could not get into the apartment so he kicked the door open.  As he stepped inside the apartment the victim, afraid for her life, stabbed the suspect in the shoulder.

The suspect ran off and the victim gave chase.  Officers arriving in the area quickly stopped both parties, and rescued the suspect from the victim.  The knife was recovered.  Officers checked the apartment and found that the door was forced open.

The suspect was arrested and transported to Harborview  Medical Center in satisfactory condition. He was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary.  The victim was not injured.
