On October 30, 2023, Seattle Police Officers arrested a 50-year-old male after he assaulted a victim and two officers in Downtown Seattle.
Shortly before 8:30 p.m., dispatch received a call regarding a male suspect that punched a victim and attacked another passerby. According to the victim, he walked by the suspect on the sidewalk and was struck in the head.
Officers arrived at 3rd Avenue and James Street and located the suspect matching the description. Police approached the suspect; he took a fighting stance and threatened officers. The suspect ran from officers and was caught approximately half a block away. While taking the suspect into custody, he hit two officers, and attempted to take another to the ground. The suspect suffered a laceration during the arrest.
Seattle Fire Department arrived and evaluated the suspect, officers did not need a medical assessment and the victim refused medical attention. The suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Medial Center to treat his injuries. The suspect was then later booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
