Detectives Investigate Double Shooting in Columbia City

Seattle Police Department Gun Violence Reduction Unit are investigating a shooting that left two males seriously injured in Columbia City neighborhood.

Tuesday evening shortly before 5:00 p.m., 911 received reports of a shooting in the 9400 block of Rainier Avenue South. Police arrived on scene and located two males in a nearby apartment building. The victims were in their late teens to early 20’s, both suffering from gunshot wounds to the leg. Officers rendered aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and the two victims were transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious, but stable condition.

According to witnesses, it appears that the suspects shot from a blue sedan and struck the two victims. After the shooting, the victims called 911 from a nearby apartment. The suspects fled the scene in their vehicle.

Gun Violence Reduction Unit Detectives responded to the scene and are working to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting. No suspects have been identified.
