On September 17th at 10:02 AM, officers responded to a car/bicycle injury collision at the intersection of 7th Avenue S  and S Jackson Street.   The bicyclist was travelling west on S. Jackson Street  at 7th Avenue S when a car turned from east on S. Jackson north onto 7th Avenue.  The bicyclist collided with the vehicle, striking the car on the driver side.  The bicylcist suffered life threatening injuries as a result of the collision.  SFD medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center emergency care.  The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.  Alcohol/drug impairment does not appeared to have played a role.

 

Traffic Collision detectives responded to the scene to investigate.
