SPD seeks public’s assistance in recent homicide

Seattle Police are investigating a homicide that occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, August 21st.  This crime occurred during a large private party held at a rented facility near Fairview Avenue North and Valley Street.  A disturbance broke out during this gathering involving the victim, a 20 year old male, and several other people while attending this event.  The disturbance then moved outside of the building.  It is believed that the victim was assaulted and shot sometime after midnight and his body was discovered a few hours later.  Homicide detectives are asking anyone that may have witnessed this disturbance or has information regarding this homicide to contact them either at (206) 684-5550 or the Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.  Those wishing to remain anonymous are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a text to CRIMES (274637).  Your text message should include “TIP486” to ensure proper routing.  If a tip leads to an arrest and the filing of charges, callers may qualify for a cash reward of up to $1000.  Calls are taken 24 hours a day.
