On 04-21-2012, at approximately 9:41 a.m., when the victim arrived to get money out of the ATM machine at 5th & Union, the suspect was already using the adjacent machine. As soon as the money came out for the victim, he was sucker punched by the suspect. The victim fell to the ground and the suspect grabbed the $20.00 and ran. The victim gave chase.
A witness saw the incident and called the police. The suspect ran through a nearby hotel. Officers arrived and saw the suspect trying to duck into the Metro tunnel at 3rd and Pine. Officers caught the suspect and the victim positively identified the him. He was arrested without incident. The $20.00 was recovered from the suspect. The victim sustained minor scrapes and bruises.
