On September 12th, at about 5:30 pm, an adult man was attempting to cross the street eastbound in the 1400 Block of Alaskan Way. As the pedestrian was crossing the road, a Ford Focus travelling northbound on Alaskan collided with the man. The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center by Seattle Fire Medics.
Officers evaluated the driver of the Ford at the scene for any sign of impairment, but no signs of alcohol or drugs were detected. The driver was interviewed and released from the scene pending further investigation. Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded to the scene to begin their investigation. This remains an active and on-going TCIS investigation.
