A man darting in and out of traffic is struck by two vehicles. On January 28th, just shortly before 10:00 p.m., an adult male was on foot mid block between 10 Av S and 12 Av S on S. Cloverdale St darting in and out of traffic. A Toyota Corolla travelling westbound struck the male, causing him to land in the eastbound lane of travel. He was then struck by an eastbound travelling Nissan Altima.
The 38 year-old male pedestrian suffered massive head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Seattle Fire Department. The King County Medical Examiner’s office responded and assumed custody of the decedent.
As is routine procedure, both drivers of the involved vehicles were evaluated on scene by an SPD Drug Recognition Expert; no signs of impairment were detected on either driver.
Traffic Collision Investigators responded and processed the scene. The investigation continues.
