Man Found Sleeping In Bread Truck Says Robbers Took All His Dough

Police were called to the Rainier Beach Safeway early this morning after a man climbed into a bread delivery truck and went to sleep.

Officers arrived at the Safeway—on Rainier Avenue S. and 52nd Avenue S.—just after 6 am and woke the man, who (sort of) explained to officers that he’d been out drinking earlier in the evening and had somehow ended up in the truck after he was robbed in the Central District.

The man told police that about eight hours earlier, two masked men approached near 28th and Jackson and took his wallet.

The man wasn’t able to give officers much more information about the robbery, so they called for medics to treat the man and asked him to call detectives if he could provide any other details about the incident.
