Officers responded to a death investigation this afternoon in South Park.
Just shortly before noon, a 36- year- old male went berserk inside a store in the 8900 block of 14 Av S. The man destroyed merchandise and assaulted the storeowner. The storeowner defended himself with a small burst of pepper spray.
Store video shows the male collapsing just prior to the actual application of the pepper spray. A citizen and responding officer administered CPR. Seattle Fire medics were unable to revive him.
Homicide investigated. It appears that it may have been a drug induced or health issue death. The Medical Examiner investigation will define the exact cause of death.
