Skullduggery: Police Investigating Animal Skulls Left on Fremont Lawn

Seattle police have a real head scratcher on their hands after a dozen bloody animal skulls were left in the front yard of a Fremont home this morning.

Just before 2:30 this morning, officers arrived at Troll Avenue and N. 36th St—across the street from the Fremont Troll—where they found the bizarre scene.

Ten of the animal skulls were spread across the lawn and two were placed on a porch—one was left on a chair. The skulls appeared freshly skinned and still bloody. Police do not currently believe the skulls belonged to any animals typically kept as household pets.

Officers knocked on the door of the home and contacted two residents, who said they had no idea what the heads were doing on their lawn.

One of the residents told officers he had “run off” some “neighborhood kids” the previous night, and believed they may be responsible for the skullduggery.

All the skulls were disposed of in a dumpster.

Police are now investigating whether the skulls were left as offering to the Fremont Troll or were some form of internet trolling come to life.

Update: Pictures of the large skulls were posted on the website Reddit. Warning: they’re a bit graphic.
