A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle yesterday while lying down on a driveway outside a parking garage. On 2/20/14, just shortly before 7:00 p.m., a Gray Subaru was exiting a parking garage, at Yale Av N and N. Mercer St when she drove over a pedestrian laying in the drive way.
Officers arrived and learned that the pedestrian, for unknown reasons was lying down on the driveway outside the parking garage exit. The driver of the vehicle upon exiting the garage did not see the pedestrian when she struck him. Medics responded and transported the man to HMC with life threatening injuries.
The driver was contacted and interviewed at the scene. As is protocol, a Drug Recognition Officer responded and evaluated the adult driver and determined that she was not impaired. She was released at the scene.
Traffic Collision Investigators responded and processed the scene. The investigation continues.
