Shooting Suspect In Custody After Standoff In South Seattle

Detectives are investigating after taking a man into custody following a stabbing and shooting in South Seattle.

Officers responded to the 7900 block of Rainier Ave at 4:40 PM thursday after a woman called 911 to report that her boyfriend had stabbed her in the shin before she was able to flee their home.  Officers recognized the boyfriend’s name as the 28-year-old suspect from Thursday’s shooting.

Officers approached the home and could see the suspect inside the and attempted to contact him with negotiators.  They obtained a search warrant after many failed attempts to speak with the suspect. SWAT officers arrived to help serve the warrant and eventually located the suspect hiding in the attic of the home.  Officers took him into custody and booked him into King Count Jail for DV Assault, Assault and a warrant.

Medics responded to the scene and transported her to Harborview Medical Center for a minor stab wound to the shin.  Detectives continue to speak with witnesses and are attempting to piece together what lead up to Thurday’s shooting.
