Police Seize Guns, Drugs, Arrest Three At Central District Home

A two-month long investigation by the SPD Gang Unit and Narcotics detectives led police to arrest three people Tuesday night at a Central District home, where officers found stashes of guns and ammunition in the dining room, bedrooms, and even inside an oven.

Gang Unit, Narcotics, East Precinct Officers, SWAT and FBI served a warrant around 8:15 PM Tuesday at a home on 27th Avenue and East Spring Street. The residence has repeatedly been the site of shootings and a frequent source of reports of gunfire from worried neighbors.  This latest case follows an investigation into members of several Seattle gangs and a series of shootings in the Central District and downtown Seattle.

When police searched the home Tuesday, they found a cache of drugs just inside the front entryway. Detectives also discovered guns stashed in the kitchen, living room, bedrooms, dining room and basement. By the end of the night, police seized five loaded handguns, two rifles, and extended ammunition magazines hidden inside an oven, along with 30 grams of crack cocaine and eight grams of heroin.

While police were serving the warrant at the home, a 31-year-old man sped away from the scene, only to have officers pull him over a few block away. Police found cocaine in his vehicle and booked the man—who is connected with the home—into the King County Jail for drug possession.

Police also arrested a 64-year-old woman at the home for a warrant, along with a 51-year-old woman, also arrested for a warrant, who was later taken to Harborview for a medical condition.

Detectives are still investigating the case and are working with prosecutors.
