SPD Homicide detectives are investigating after suspected human remains were found in a recycling bin outside a Central District home.
Around 4pm Saturday, a homeowner in the 1600 block of 21st Avenue called 911 and reported finding suspicious items in a recycling bin.
SPD patrol officers, homicide detectives and the King County Medical Examiner responded to the location and confirmed the presence of likely human remains at the scene.
The King County Medical Examiner’s office has taken custody of the remains for further investigation. Police are canvassing the neighborhood and are asking anyone with any information about this case to call the SPD Violent Crimes tip line at (206) 233-5000.
