Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman found in a residence earlier this morning.
Just before 9:30 am, patrol officers from the East Precinct responded to a call of a person down inside the house. A passerby reported that the victim, an adult female, appeared to have been shot. Officers arrived at the residence in the 2800 block of E. Arthur Place and located the deceased victim inside.
Homicide detectives were called out to the scene and began their investigation. They are currently speaking with potential witnesses and collecting and processing any evidence located at the scene.
