(UPDATE) Two Men Arrested Following Death Investigation at SR-509 Encampment

UPDATE 7/10:

Detectives arrested a second suspect Monday afternoon in the ongoing investigation into a June 5th homicide. Detectives transported the 46-year-old suspect to Seattle Police headquarters and will book him into King County Jail for investigation of murder.  Detectives believe there are no more suspects outstanding.

 

UPDATE 6/6: 

As part of Monday’s investigation, SPD Homicide detectives determined an assault had occurred within the encampment. Police arrested a 43-year-old man for investigation of homicide and booked him into the King County Jail.


Seattle Police are conducting a death investigation after a man’s body was found in an encampment Monday afternoon near State Route 509.

At about 1:15 PM, police were called to respond with Seattle Fire to a reported drug overdose an encampment in a wooded area along State Route 509, near Cloverdale Street.

The man’s cause and manner of death will be determined by the King County Medical Examiner’s office.
