Detectives Investigating Possible Hit and Run Fatality Crash Near Seattle Children’s Hospital

A 29-year-old man died Monday night after witnesses say he was struck by a car in the 4000 block of Sand Point Way Northeast.

Officers were called to the 4000 block of Sandpoint Way Northeast just after 11:30 p.m. when people began calling about a man who appeared to have been hit by a passing car. Detectives investigating the crash, believe the man fell into the southbound lanes after crossing mid-block. Witnesses who spoke with detectives said the victim may have been struck by two vehicles after the fall, but were unable to provide any vehicle descriptions. The witnesses said that none of the suspect vehicles stopped to check on the victim.

Seattle Fire Medics transported the victim to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Detectives are now reviewing evidence and working with the Medical Examiners Office to determine the victim’s cause of death.
