Homicide detectives are currently conducting their investigation following the fatal shooting of a man in the parking lot of the West Seattle Stadium earlier this evening.

Shortly after 7:30 pm,  Southwest Precinct officers responded to a report of a shooting in the parking outside the stadium in the 4400 block of 35th Avenue SW.  Officers arrived within minutes, and located the victim, a male in his forties, on the ground.  The victim had sustained life-threatening injuries after he was struck several times by bullets.  Officers immediately began life-saving measures until the Seattle Fire Department took over and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center.  Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased at the hospital.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigators responded to process the scene.  Detectives are also interviewing individuals who were in the parking lot at the time.

There is very little suspect or suspect vehicle description to provide at this time.  This remains an active and on-going investigation and the information is subject to change.

Anyone who may have been in the area and possibly heard or saw something and has not yet spoken with investigators is urged to contact detectives and provide their information by calling the tip line at (206) 233-5000.
