Police Arrest Suspect Following DV Stabbing at Seattle Center

Seattle Police officers and detectives are on scene following a domestic violence stabbing at Seattle Center.

Police were called to a report of a stabbing at The Armory (305 Harrison Street) at 4:19 p.m. Upon arriving, officers quickly located an adult female victim and her four year old son. The female victim was seriously injured, with multiple stab injuries. Officers provided first aid to the woman and called for Seattle Fire medics.

The adult male suspect was no longer present and had already fled on foot.

Officers received additional 911 calls that an alert witness had followed the suspect in an attempt to foil his escape.

Aided by real time 911 updates, officers rendezvoused with the witness and the suspect near 5th Avenue and Broad Street.

Officers quickly placed the suspect under arrest.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect was with the victim at the time of the assault, that he was in a domestic relationship with her, and that he was the child’s father.

Officers also recovered the knife believed to have been used in the attack.

Seattle Fire medics transported the adult female victim to Harborview Medical Center, where she is currently receiving emergency medical treatment. Her injuries are described as life threatening.

The 4 year boy has been transported to a nearby police facility and will remain in police care while officers coordinate with Child Protective Services for further instruction.

This remains an active and ongoing criminal investigation.
