Detectives are investigating after a 19-year-old woman was shot in the 1000 block of Aurora Avenue North early Monday morning.

Witnesses began calling 911 after they saw a man shoot a woman at a bus stop at North 100 Street and Aurora Avenue North just after 2 am Monday.

Officers arrived and found a woman with a gunshot wound to the head and immediately began first-aid.  Seattle Fire Department Medics transported the woman, who was alert and conscious, to Harborview Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses told officers that a black man, wearing dark clothes and a red hat, and the victim were in an argument when the man pulled out a gun and shot the woman.  The witnesses went on to say the suspect may have fled into a nearby motel.

Officers scoured the motel but were unable to locate the suspect. Detectives collected evidence at the scene and will continue to investigate.
