Two Men Injured In Shooting Near New Holly Neighborhood

Gang Unit detectives are investigating after two men were wounded by gunfire near the New Holly neighborhood late Monday.

Around 11 PM, police received reports of gunfire and were told by a 911 caller that the victims were at Rainier Avenue South and South Rose Street.

Police arrived and found the three victims and their vehicle. One man had a grazing gunshot wound to his neck, another had gunshot injuries to his head and shoulder, and a third man was uninjured.

The victims were able to tell officers they were at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Othello Street, driving southbound, when a suspect in another vehicle began shooting at them.

The victims fled and stopped at Rainier Avenue and Rose Street, where they called police.

Medics transported the man with head injuries to Harborview Medical Center in non-life-threatening condition. The second injured man was treated at the scene.

Officers found a gun in the victims’  car and have turned the case over to Gang Unit detectives for further investigation.
