Crime does not pay-just ask robbery suspect

On November 2nd at around 1 AM, West Precinct patrol officers were dispatched to an area nightclub to a report of a large disturbance occurring outside.  Arriving officers were contacted by several victims at the scene regarding an armed robbery that had just occurred.   The victims pointed to the suspect, who was approximately 20 feet away.  When officers approached the suspect he ran off towards the Sorrento Hotel front parking lot.  The suspect continued running toward the far SW corner of the lot and fell into a 15-foot-shaft.

Officers attempted to give the suspect verbal commands. The suspect was apparently injured and as a result of his injuries, “passed out.”  A Seattle Fire Ladder truck was called to the scene to assist in rescue efforts. Officers went into the shaft and retrieved the suspect. He was treated on scene and transported to an area hospital for his injuries. Upon release from the hospital, the suspect will be booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.

According to witnesses, the suspect pointed a gun at the the victim’s head and demanded a necklace the victim was wearing.  The victim gave the suspect the necklace and the suspect walked away.

Officers recovered the victim’s necklace on the sidewalk where the suspect had been running.
