On November 9th at approximately 11:30 A.M., SFD Medics responded to a residence in the 9200 block of 45 Ave S for the report of a 2-month-old baby boy not breathing. Medics provided treatment and transported the baby to an area hospital. Upon further examination and treatment, medical staff discovered injuries to the infant that were consistent with child abuse. Officers were called to the hospital and after further police investigation, detectives responded to the scene. The following day, November 10th, detectives arrested the infant’s 17-year-old father in Seattle. The suspect (father) was subsequently booked into the Youth Service Center for Investigation of Assault of a Child (a felony). The infant sustained serious injuries to his chest and head and is still under hospital care. Special Assault Unit Detectives continue to actively investigate the case.
