On November 16 at 7:40 PM, North Precinct Officers responded to a grocery store in the 9900 block of Holman Road NW. Investigation revealed that the suspect stole a case of beer, exited the store and got into his truck. Two store employees followed the shoplifter outside. One employee began to struggle with the suspect at his vehicle while the second employee tried to get the vehicle license plate number. According to witnesses, the suspect accelerated to get away, deliberately striking one of the employees with his truck. The victim was knocked to the ground and struck his head on the pavement. The suspect then drove off. Officers did an area search with negative results. Seattle Fire Department medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Responding officers secured the scene, interviewed witnesses, and responded to HMC. The suspect vehicle is described as a blue pickup truck or SUV with a white top. The truck is believed to have out of state license plates. The suspect was described as a white male in his 50’s or 60’s, approximately 5’6″ with a beard and wearing glasses.
