On March 28 at approximately 2:47 a.m. officers responded to 911 calls of a fight disturbance in a parking lot on the southeast corner of 2 Avenue and Pike Street. Officers arrived on scene and saw one male subject holding another male subject on the ground with several other persons standing around. Preliminary investigation indicates that this incident started when a 37-year-old male (subject #1) punched a female friend of two other males (subjects #2 & #3), knocking the female victim to the ground. Subjects #2 and #3 then struck subject #1, knocked him to the ground and held him down. Gang Unit Detectives were the first officers to arrive on scene. They found subject #1 unresponsive and immediately began CPR. SFD Medics took over CPR upon arrival and transported subject #1 to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The adult female victim was also transported to HMC with non-life-threatening injuries. Subjects #2 & #3 (29-year-old & 24-year-old males from Kent, respectively) were detained and transported to the Homicide Office where they were interviewed by detectives and released. Homicide Detectives continue to actively investigate the incident.
