Two car injury collision in South Seattle

On April 15th at approximately 7:49 a.m.,  SPD officers and the Seattle Fire Department responded to an injury collision involving two vehicles in the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Myrtle Street.  The elderly male driver in a car travelling eastbound on Myrtle collided with a van travelling northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Way S.  The male driver sustained a head injury, and was transported to Harborview Medical Center by medics with life-threatening injuries.  The female driver of the van was treated at the scene for non life-threatening injuries, and the two passengers in the van were uninjured.  The Traffic Collision Investigation Squad responded to the scene.  Northbound M. L. King Jr. Way South was closed for approximately two hours while the scene was processed.  The streets are now open for travel, but the detectives will continue their investigation.
