Stolen vehicle crash into house in New Holly

On April 27, at approximately 9:55 a.m.,  South Precinct officers  attempted to contact a suspicious vehicle in the 2900 Block of South Holly Street.  The officers approached the car on foot to speak to the driver.  Unbeknownst to the officers, the vehicle had just been reported as stolen.  As the officers reached the car, it sped away.  The officers ran back to their patrol car and attempted to relocate the vehicle.  While checking the area, a neighborhood resident contacted officers near Beacon Avenue South and South Eddy and indicated that the suspect vehicle had gone west.  Officers headed that way and found that the car had crashed into a house.  The car was unoccupied.  Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  The car was verified as stolen.  The Seattle Fire Department responded to assess the damage to the house, which did suffer significant structural damage.  The house was unoccupied at the time of the collision.
