SDOT issues traffic advisory due to weekend events

Please see the information from Seattle Department of Transportation concerning possible traffic delays due to events around Seattle this weekend.

Many Large Weekend Activities will affect Traffic

Plan on Possible Delays

SEATTLE – There are several events taking place this weekend, Friday through Sunday, May 1-3, that are likely to cause traffic delays.  The activities run the gamut from the “Ninth Annual May Day March and Rally” andOpening Day of Boating Season” to the “March of Dimes for Babies.”  Motorists should allow time for traffic congestion associated with these events.  The Seattle Department of Transportation encourages event-goers to try a different way of traveling – and save money while they reduce their carbon footprint and frustration. Alternatives include carpooling, riding the bus, taking the Sound Transit Sounder (to Mariners on May 3), bicycling, or walking.
