On 05/14/09 at 11:10 p.m., witnesses in the 100 block of S. Horton st. called from a club in the area stating shots were heard outside and that the shooter got into a white T-bird and fled the area. Officers arrived and found there had been a fight at the Club that carried on into the street. The suspect was being beaten when he pulled out his gun, pistol-whipped his assailant, and then shot at the assailant as he fled on foot. The suspect then ran towards the t-bird, got inside, and the car sped off. Port of Seattle Officers stopped the suspect vehicle SB on I-5 near the Highway 18 interchange. South end Officers responded to the stop and took custody of the suspect. No property damage or victims at the original scene were found (including the person the suspect got into a fight with), but casing were recovered from the street. Officers found the suspect’s gun in a nearby dumpster, covered in blood, and matching the caliber of casing found. The suspect was booked for Reckless Endangerment and Fort Lewis was notified because he is an active member of the Army.
