On May 17th, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers from the North Precinct responded to the area of a motel in the 4100 Block of Aurora Avenue North regarding a suspect who returned to the scene of a May 9 assault incident. During the previous incident, the suspect had kicked down a motel room door and attempted to stab the motel manager. On this date the suspect fled, as officers were coming into the area. Responding officers quickly set up containment and a K-9 team performed a track. Canine and accompanying officers located the suspect hiding in a dumpster in the 800 Block of North 43rd Street. The original assault victim was re-located and brought to the arrest scene where the suspect was positively identified. The adult male suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault.
