Suspect arrested following suspicious fire in Rainier Valley

Shortly after 9:00 a.m. on May 17th, South Precinct officers responded with the Seattle Fire Department to a residential fire in the 4000 Block of 37th Avenue South.  The fire did damage to that residence and a neighboring house.  Seattle Fire was able to bring the fire under control quickly, but both structures sustained damage.  The Arson/Bomb detectives also responded to the scene.  During the course of the investigation, it was determined that one of the tenants of the house deliberately set the fire.  The adult male was later arrested and booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Arson.  The Arson and Bomb detectives will be tasked with the follow up investigation.
