Stabbing suspect at large

On 6/4/09, at approximately 1045 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of S. Juneau St. to investigate an assault where the victim was bleeding.  The victim works at a rehab center in the area, and confronted the suspect because of his drinking, which is not allowed at the center.  The suspect’s wife was the intake officer working the desk and she tried to intervene between the victim and suspect.  The confrontation escalated and the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the stomach and leg.  The suspect fled on foot east across Martin Luther King Jr Wy S.  Patrol and K9 responded and combed the area, but their efforts were fruitless.  The suspect is known to live on the streets or at the incident address and is known to the victim.  The victim was treated on scene by Seattle Fire and later tranported to harborview with non-life threatening injuries.
