Shots Fired in South Seattle

On July 11, 2009 at approximately 10:19 p.m., officers were dispatched to investigate
citizens reporting hearing 8-10 possible gun shots in the 8100 block of 48
AV S. Officers arrived on scene and contacted a group of males/females standing
in the area.

All of the subjects at the scene stated they were sitting in front of a house in the
8100 block of 48 AV S., when a vehicle, described as an older, 4 door red Saturn or
Chevy Cavalier with ‘fancy hubcaps,’ drove past them traveling Northbound. Some
of the subjects approached the vehicle because they believed the occupants
of the vehicle were their associates.

The vehicle drove to the end of the block, turned around and proceeded back in the subjects’ direction. The vehicle stopped just south of and a male exited the passenger side and leaned on the car and began firing at the victims who were still seated on a rock retaining wall located in front of the house.

The vehicle then left Southbound on 48 AV S. Officers arrived on scene and located five (5) shell casings in front on the sidewalk. Gang unit detectives arrived on scene and interviewed the victims.

Officers located three (3) bullet holes in a residence in the 8100 block 48 AV S. The residence is being remodeled and was unoccupied at the time of the incident.

An area check for the vehicle returned negative.
