On August 16th at approximately 11:00 p.m., two men had a run-in with unknown persons in Cowen Park. Words were exchanged and one of the men was assaulted.
At around midnight, the injured victim checked in to the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) Emergency Room. Hospital staff found extensive damage to his knee. UWMC called Seattle Police at 3 a.m. to report the assault on the victim’s behalf.
North Precinct patrol officers responded to investigate. The victim’s friend left prior to officers’ arrival and they were unable to locate or contact him. An area check of Cowen Park revealed no particular crime scene. The victim only remembers one suspect as a white male with brown hair.
