Shots fired, suspect arrested

On September 14th at around 12:05 a.m., West Precinct patrol officers responded to a report of shots fired  in the 1500 block of 2nd Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers discovered that nightclub security employees had successfully detained the suspect.

According to the victims, the suspect had been ejected from their nightclub for unruly behavior and intoxication.  He returned minutes later firing a semi-automatic handgun from the alley between 2nd and 3rd Avenue, just south of Pine Street.  When the gun malfunctioned, one of the nightclub’s security officers charged at the suspect and subdued him.  No one was struck by the gunfire but one car was damaged by it.

Officers placed the adult male suspect under arrest.  He was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault.  Officers seized the suspect’s handgun and placed it into evidence.
